Amsterdam techno outlet Anagram has been quietly building a monster catalog since 2014. Run by Sinfol, the homegrown label reflects an evolving sounds of the city. For their fifteenth release, the crew releases their second VA int he form of new series ‘Coalescence’. Marking the first of the 2019, the pressing is limited to 300 four-track records revisiting label standouts with fresh edits.
First look at the tracklist shows the EP filled with well-versed artist making their way on impactful labels across techno. Toning back early sounds of acid-laden warehouse drums that Anagram does right, Coalescence Vol. 1 boast a refreshing blend of subtle heat. Four names are listed on remix duties, Drugstore resident Tiljana T, Ostgut Ton legend Ryan Elliot, Klockworks artist Newa and the Tel Aviv based Yotam Avni.
Coalescence, the next chapter from the label, will unfold as a series of remix EP’s reinforcing the labels core values of community, togetherness and growth.
Hidden among high-tempo techno, kick drums can be held at bay for summer-ready sunset vibes or let loose for the full-on heavy floor tones that make Anagram a go-to do the club. This homage to the past three releases of the label, is great addition of a few legends to the roster. Looking forward to more of this!
