Céad: A New Label by Or:la

Irish producer and DJ Orlagh Dooley is a clear member of dance music’s new wave of poised yet unapologetic musicians delivering a fresh blend of studio ingenuity while heating up the dance floor night after night. No stranger to the circuit of Europe’s quality lineups, Or:la is often top-billed at festivals, one-offs, and klubnachts alongside other breakouts like partner in crime Avalon Emerson.

Over the past two years, Or:la and Breakwave have curated the Lobster-distributed Deep Sea Frequencies. Now she’s on to something new, announcing her second label Céad. Without announcing much about the focus or direction, this new imprint seems to deliver the same level of originality as evident in the complex, percussive sounds of the first release.

Tapping Dutch artist Lewski for the first release, a preview of the EP reflects his other studio and set sounds heard behind influential decks like The Shelter AMS and Red Light Radio. Titled ‘Mariachi Guadalajara’, the four-track 12 inch is due out May 20th.

Evidence of Or:la‘s experience cutting her teeth on innovative outlets like Scuba’s Hotflush, Céad is poised to be a tastemaker in genreless electronic. Likely available in limited quantities, jump on the release now to ensure the debut is in your crate.
