Exercise One Get Busy with Hardware for their New Record on Palinoia
Berlin's Exercise One are no stranger to jacking techno cuts. Cutting their teeth on a wide range of influential labels, the duo is landing on Eric Cloutier's Palinoia Records. Cataloged as the second release on the label, Cloutier channels his roots in Detroit for a classic take on ground-shaking techno. Eric' emerging wax imprint is a testament to those who pioneered the genre and an enlistment for those who aim to shepherd underground music into the future.
This driving 12" is a prime example of analog innovation at it's finest. The final press comes as a result of refined live sessions recorded from straight from machine to tape. An indication of expertise with the tools of the trade, Marco Freivogel & Ingo Gansera are much more than electronic button pushers. A-side tracks 'Heptagon' and 'Prism' fill the room with walls of sound and heavy kicks, whereas the flipside's 'Nitrogen' and 'Thirty Four' offer a more rhythmic funk. Diverse and deep, this record swings above its weight.
Though Exercise One are no strangers to the scene, this record signals their return to the studio after almost a year of silence. Blending acid tones with pulsing percussion, these two producers spin ahead of the curve in a familiar warehouse trend. Keep watch for Exercise One leading techno in motion on a dancefloor near you.
