Deep house icon Kerri Chandler needs no introduction. Bred just outside of the thriving disco scene of New York, Chandler almost single-handedly put Jersey dance music on the map. Since debuting on Atlantic Records in the early 90s, Kerri’s mastery of dance genres has been realized in the studio and behind the decks. Founding three labels of his one, this legend is no stranger to releasing hit tracks pressed to wax. Not sure if he’s looking to make tunes more accessible, or just felt generous this week, but Chandler’s latest announcement means an early Christmas for us all.
“As promised I am putting this link up for 43 songs of mine for free that weren’t available as digital downloads. Hope you enjoy and play them.”
You heard him right, Kerri has hand-picked a healthy dose of records from the archives and made them available to the world. Previously limited to vinyl (with a handful of unreleased in there), the tunes are now up on WeTransfer in a 2 gig bundle made for the digital DJ. Yep, some of these records have never even been allowed in public, now you can snag them with a couple of quick clicks. The bundle boasts a number of hits like ‘Mommy What’s A Record’, ‘Get It Off’ and ‘In Search of Mr. Ford’ as well as a few Nina Simone remixes.
Typically WeTransfer only keeps links up for two weeks, act fast!
