Lee Burridge and Hoj launched Tale + Tone this Summer with a six-part vinyl release. After giving the early exclusive to wax heard, the crew is following up with staggered digital releases, unveiling the new label to the web with a slew of stellar B-sides. Packed with ‘music Lee and Joj would play in a back-to-back set’, the A&R for this label deliver demo’s straight from their crate. The latest digital release is an instant underground anthem from Lost Desert & Amari featuring vox by Adomas.
Reflecting the sister/parent label All Day I Dream, Tale and Tone’s first releases boast subdued house frames with an impactful bass foundation. ‘Hunter’ is no different as Lost Desert & Amari paint a refined picture of dancefloor-ready electronic without the overkill. Intertwined percussion meets passionate vocal hooks for a well thought out chorus led by kicks and hi-hats. Proven to be a mover on the dusty stages of Black Rock City, this tune is a worthy anthem to the end of Summer.
The title track is joined by a distantly lush companion, ‘Innercity Playground’, featuring the collaborative efforts of Mike Tohr. With introspective pads and delicate percussion, Lost Desert and Mike Tohr create a stunning juxtaposition to Hunter, further pushing the House sound that the Tale and Tone Crew is becoming known for.
As Belgian producer Lost Desert continues to make his mark on the blossoming movement sparked by Lee Burridge, his stop on Tale + Tone is just another step in his growing catalog. Watch out for Lost Desert and the ADID crew on their global tour.
