Marco Carola and the Multi-Million Dollar Ibiza Fine

Big parties, big money, and big problems are kicking off the season on the white isle as Marco Carola faces legal troubles before even arriving. After seven years at Amnesia, the Italian recently announced his move to Pacha for the 2019 summer season. Building a cult following of his tech-house label turned party Music On, Carola is a huge draw for Italians and more.

Apparently, the Carola crew didn’t quite tie up all the loose ends before existing Amnesia as a Spanish court just ruled that he may pay up to 2.4 million euro in fines for breach of contract. Likely indication that Amnesia just wasn’t doing it for him and the party, that’s a hefty tab to bear for the new space. Given the fact that Pacha will pull in thousands per night for the 23-week residency, it might just be worth it.

Promising ‘a new experience’ at their new home Carola has assembled a start-studded (but fairly standard) crew for the six month series. Friends from the label and beyond will join the boss each Thursday starting next week. If required to start the season with the multi-million euro bill, Marco better hope his Italian countrymen keep the place packed all summer long.
