Rakastella, the brainchild of underground electronic music tastemakers Life and Death and Innervisions, returns December 7 during Art Basel Miami to the idyllic shores of the city’s Historic Virginia Key. Acting as a showcase for the global curation beacon put forth by these two brands, the lineup will gather some of the scene’s most celebrated selectors and live acts for this immersive musical marathon—with Dixon, Marie Davidson, and DJ Minx entering an already top class billing.
Joining Dixon on the third phase lineup are fierce femmes DJ Minx and Marie Davidson. Named one of the ‘Best house music DJs of all time’ by TimeOut, Deep Space Radio founder DJ Minx is set to bring her Detroit flare to the coastal craze that is Miami. Marie Davidson, classically trained violinist and Ninja Tune star behind the internationally lauded LP Working Class Woman, will make her Rakastella debut following a massive year behind the smash record.
These acts join an already scene leading billing of dance music talent, most of whom are making their Rakastella debuts. The first announcement consisted of a high caliber of artists such as Hessle Audio head Ben UFO, Catalan king John Talabot, rising star Jayda G, multi-national curator Mor Elian, and live-performance luminary KiNK. Rendering more anticipation for the winter event was the second lineup release, featuring Âme’s Frank Wiedemann, American house pioneers Soul Clap, Dekmantel legend Palms Trax, Sustain / Release founder Aurora Halal, and Burning Man favorites Öona Dahl and Tara Brooks.
At Rakastella, Life and Death and Innervisions have combined to create an event greater than the sum of its parts; dancing in the sand while watching the sunrise over the Bay of Miami, multiple intimate stages designed and created by leading figures in the city’s burgeoning artistic community, exceptional musical programming and a unique crowd drawn by one of the world’s most significant art events.
Rakastella invites the creative worlds of music and art to lose themselves in a unique seaside escape. Dance in the sand as the sun goes down, explore a curated art landscape and enjoy a soundtrack curated by two of the world’s finest label collectives.
