Off-White founder and Louis Vuitton director Virgil Abloh is making his way into the DJ, but this time it’s not designing apparel. Announced as the first part of his partnership with Pioneer DJ, Abloh re-designed the exterior of a CDJ with much more to come.
Part of his first ever museum exhibition at the MCA Chicago, Abloh will debut ‘Transparent’. This multi-part remake of popular DJ gear is mean to inspire artists to ‘look within’ when creating.
PIONEER DJ c/o VIRGIL ABLOH™️
Go beyond the music. Genre-bending artist and world-renowned fashion designer @virgilabloh has reimagined the design of our #CDJ2000NXS2 and #DJM900NXS2.
His non-labeled “TRANSPARENT” renditions of our classic models are intended to inspire a “different sound while DJing. And perhaps a new way for music technology and human interaction to equal a different result.”
From June 10th until September 22nd, the models will form a part of his debut museum exhibition entitled “Figures of Speech” at the @mcachicago.
The exhibition is the first to look at Abloh’s work that transcends industries, connecting music, fashion and architecture.
